[서울=RNX뉴스] 박은경 기자 = The comments from Hassan Rouhani come after the U.S. issued new sanctions on Iran.

A spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry even says the sanctions forever end the "channels of diplomacy."

In a new speech, Rouhani said that the U.S. was trying to "create chaos" and that the Trump administration has a "mental disability."

Tensions between the countries have risen since Trump ended the Iran nuclear deal last year.

The U.S. has also blamed Iran for an incident in the Gulf of Oman in which two tankers were attacked.

Iran has denied the accusations, but that hasn't stopped Trump from nearly issuing air strikes on the country.

Last week, it was reported that the U.S. president called off the strikes just minutes before they were scheduled to start.
