[서울=RNX뉴스] 박은경 기자 = Beto O’Rourke Announces Plan for LGBTQ Equality Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke released his sixth official policy proposal on June 12, this time addressing LGBTQ Equality in the United States.

His plan is composed of three parts: executive actions he would take, legislation he would enact and global steps he would pursue.

O’Rourke pledged to overturn the military ban on transgender people, as well as reverse “deploy or get out," which discriminates against HIV-positive service men.

He also plans to increase protection of LGBTQ students by bringing back previous U.S. Education Department guidance programs.

O’Rourke’s emphasized the need to protect transgender women of color, calling for proper police training, as well as the investigation of increased crimes against them.

O’Rourke, via statement Legislation wise, O’Rourke has vowed to back the Equality Act, as well as create a universal health care system that is inclusive of LGBTQ people.

He would also push for further federal funding of local police to be tied to the mandatory implementation of anti-discrimination and anti-profiling policies.

O’Rourke plans to create a global treaty that explicitly protects LGBTQ individuals being persecuted, as well as establish a special envoy for LGBTQ people.
